All Change!

Hello good readers.

Time for another update. As I write this entry I find myself at Melbourne airport awaiting the arrival of the in laws (aaaarrrggghh!) who will be staying with us for the next (gulp) threeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee months (aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhh!). Why such a long stay I hear you cry? Let me explain.

For a few years now teaching just hasn’t been as enjoyable as it used to be (far too many reasons to list here) so I’ve been looking for a way out for a while now. However, trying to find a job that is going to stimulate and entertain me has been tricky and the one thing you can say about teaching is that it’s never dull.

Back in February of this year though Victoria Police ran a series of adverts to recruit people into a branch of their force that felt specifically with policing (get this), train stations. Hhhhmmmmmmm! Getting paid to patrol train stations and deal with people making unusual choices – sounds good. So I applied, and ever since February I’ve been going through the application process; and last week finally got my start date at the academy (22/10/2013). So for the next three months I’ll be spending Monday to Friday training to be a copper and only coming home at weekends (the academy is the other side of Melbourne and too far to drive everyday).

Hence the reason for being at the airport and having the in laws with us for a quarter of a year, they’ve come to help look after us whilst we make another transition in our lives. So all joking aside, I await their arrival with a smile on my face and believe it’ll be there for a while (no clenched teeth here).

Well I best get off this blog entry and watch for their entrance into Australia once again.

Bye for now 😊
